Research Interest

In 2 and 1972, the first discovery of Brassica cytoplasmic male sterility (Pol CMS) was recognized internationally as "the first practical type of male sterility in rape" (Fan and Stefansson, 1986; McVetty, 1987; R o bbelen, 1991). He and his research group have systematically studied the inheritance, classification and distribution of Pol CMS, and "reach the advanced level in depth and breadth". In 1991, he won the first prize in science and technology progress of the State Education Commission. Pol CMS is widely used in breeding practice at home and abroad. 1985-94 years plus, Australia, China, India and Dan are certified (registered) 22 rape three line hybrid, 17 indicate the source of the sterile line, and 13 are bred by Pol CMS. In 2001, 61% of the rape varieties planted in the United States (about 15 million acres) were Pol CMS hybrids. At present, more than 50% of the three lines of rape planted in China are still hybrids bred by Pol CMS. Pol CMS was also transferred to Chinese Cabbage (Shaanxi), Chinese Cabbage (Jiangsu), cauliflower (Yorrow), red cabbage moss (Hubei) and other cruciferous vegetables, and 3 red cabbage moss hybrid varieties, such as "red miscellaneous" and "red miscellaneous 60", were bred by Pol CMS, indicating that Pol CMS not only to rape, but also to the above. The utilization of Heterosis in vegetables has also made important contributions. In 1999, a new cytoplasmic male sterile line, 00-6-102A, which was completely different from Pol CMS, Ogu CMS (radish sterility), was found in 1999. In March 2006, it was applied to the practice of cruciferous crop breeding through the scientific and technological achievements of Hubei province.
